I was invited by Flint, a high quality fingerboard deck's brand, to join their artist series collection with a drop of 2 illustrations.
Flint is a consolidated manufacturer in the fingerboard community, with high quality deck's, all hand build. I wanted to portray this old school cartoon illustration with skate influenced aesthetics.
Approach
I decided to create 2 animations to pair with the illustration, my intention was to use them as a promotional for the release of the serie's. I opted to create a stop-motion animation inspired in the dog illustration and created an AR experience to pair with the FLINT illustration.
Challenges
The main challenge in this process was the creation of the stopmotion, from developing the character in felt till taking every photo to use as a frame, prepare it, clean it and compose it, it's an intense process. It's also very rewarding once you have the final product ready
Results
The release was a great sucess! It was their fastest sell out of the date and the instagram post that showed the series became their most liked till date. The animations wrapped all the project and gave a way deeper context to the experience.
